How to verify CIJ spare-part compatibility before ordering.
Industrial coding parts can look identical while differing in connector type, dimensions, electrical revision, fluid compatibility or mounting arrangement. Use this checklist before approving a replacement component.
Start with the exact make, model and generation.
Do not order against a brand name alone. Record the complete printer model and, where available, the serial or identification plate. Different generations within the same product family may use different fluid paths, electronics, connectors and printhead assemblies.
Use the existing part reference wherever possible.
The strongest matching evidence is the number printed on the current component, assembly, service kit, packaging label or maintenance documentation. Photograph the complete label rather than typing the number from memory.
Part number
Capture every letter, number, dash and suffix shown on the existing component.
Front and back views
Include connectors, fittings, mounting points and cable ends.
Dimensions if uncertain
Measurements can help distinguish visually similar filters, pumps and assemblies.
Where it is used
Note whether the part is in the ink circuit, printhead, cabinet, control panel or another subsystem.
Visual similarity is not a compatibility guarantee.
Critical differences can include voltage, connector pinout, tube diameter, thread type, seal material, filtration rating, pump characteristics, board revision and physical mounting.
For fluid-path parts, chemical compatibility matters as well. A component used with one ink family may not be suitable for another formulation.
