HOW-TO • PART IDENTIFICATION

How to identify a CIJ printer part number before requesting a quote.

A clear part reference can turn a vague spare-parts enquiry into a fast compatibility check. Use the steps below before removing labels, discarding service-kit packaging or sending only a cropped photo.

STEP 1

Photograph the machine identification plate.

Start with the printer itself. Capture the manufacturer name, complete model designation and any visible serial or revision information. This establishes the equipment family before a component reference is checked.

STEP 2

Look for the component or assembly label.

FILTERS / KITS

Packaging or body label

Service kits and filters may carry the reference on the box, bag, filter body or attached tag.

PUMPS / VALVES

Body label or engraving

Capture manufacturer markings, voltage information and connector details where present.

PRINTHEAD

Assembly label

Check the head body, cable tag, mounting plate or associated assembly documentation.

ELECTRONICS

Board or cable reference

Boards and cables may have several numbers; photograph the full board and all labels instead of choosing one.

STEP 3

Do not omit suffixes or revision letters.

A small suffix can represent a different connector, voltage, firmware/hardware revision or manufacturing change. Capture the entire reference exactly as printed.

If the label is damaged or unreadable, send multiple clear photos and the printer model rather than guessing the missing characters.

Good evidenceFull label + complete component photo
Useful evidencePrinter model + partial reference + connector photos
Weak evidenceOnly a generic component name
AvoidGuessing missing digits or suffixes
STEP 4

Photograph connectors, fittings and mounting points.

Two components can share a similar housing while using different connectors or fluid fittings. Take front, rear and side views, plus a close-up of every connector or threaded fitting. If practical, include a ruler for scale when dimensions are uncertain.

STEP 5

Send a complete commercial enquiry.

Printer modelExact brand and model.
Part referenceComplete printed code.
PhotosLabels, connectors and full component.
QuantityNumber required.
DestinationCountry and city/postcode.

Found the part number?

Send it with the printer model, photos, quantity and destination.
